Now, I don't know much about Go, but from what I understand mobile games tend to make more money from few individuals who spend a lot, I believe they're called whales. Again, I don't know how and in what way Go monetizes, but all more money means is that it's more effective at getting money (which yes that's a form of success, I don't have a problem with that point). I'm not saying this is true, but it's entirely possible all of Go's money comes from a very small portion of individuals. Now, if you wanted to post concurrent installations, that could be a decent indication of popularity. Even if everyone doesn't play all the time, if they play some of the time that's probably a reasonable way to measure popularity.
