I dont care about them being shit, but this practically nullifies the concept of bugs having to be weak in lore, they are inofffensive in real life because they are tiny, but in the pokemon world they can be as large as any other animal. A real life ant the size of a dog would be really powerful.

This is correct, bugs would also fall apart since their bodies are adapted to being so small, they would not be able to support such thing legs under high weight.
Same reasons as why bees can fly, they are small, so their weight barely matters.

Fairy is not broken defensively but giving it one more unusual weakness would encourage more variety in the game without driving the type to the ground. Bug would be perfect for it because it's already a type that interacts with fairy and doesn't have much use offensively other than being the main STAB of a few good pokemon.

But fairy types have very little to do with nature in general. The ones who do like Comfrey or Flabebe are plant symbiotes and already share a weakness with grass type, two would make sense too.

By that logic soil should have no weaknesses since you can't hurt an inanimate substance.
I always guessed that ground was weak to ice because nothing grows out of it when it's covered in snow, but now that I think of it that's another nonsensical type matchup made for the purpose of gameplay balance.

Fire is the natural part of a forest's life cycle.
Forests are always most fertile after they recovered from a fire and the undergrowth of trees is regenerated. Trees such as the metasequoia need fire to germinate.
Fire is bad for individual plants but not for nature.

It's impossible to make perfectly "logical" matchup, worse if someone brings hard science to it. Since most relations are easily associable with common knowledge it's a good chart.
