Betamons are often well liked, so I wanted to explore trying to recreate one of the more unfinished ones to show what it might've looked if it was finished.

The one I picked was this strange weird plant Pokemon. The grass type seemed obviously, and the eye reminded me of Magnemite, so I figured it could work as a Grass/Electric. I imagined it as a weird plant that could use its fruit like a bomb and explode it, similar to Exeggutor.

Anyways I showed the sprite to a friend and they told me it looked more like a tongue. And when they pointed out, I realized it kind of did, the shading on the sprite also possibly leads to that. Both simple eyes and tongues are prominent in Gen 1 designs, and if this plant Pokemon was meant to be a lemon, or sour fruit, the tongue makes sense.

Anyways I just wanted to share this because, while I'm not an artist as you can see, I had fun making it. Are there any betamons you liked? How do you imagine they would've turned out if they were finished?
