No. I don't like this at all. Around 10% of Pokémon are legendary/mythicals. This stupid trend does not work.

At least back then, the legendary birds could be treated as normal pokemon, just exceedingly rare. But now everything is just too fucked up.

They were just birds, but in game they were never ever treated like just birds.
You never ever saw them in almost any anime episode unless it was extremely important, an their mentions were seldom. They were barely shilled. They were extremely rare.
Stop making legendaries. Make rare Pokémon instead. Legendaries as a concept doesn't work in this franchise, and it will never work unless they are NPC-only like Eternatus Eternamax.

Is this really an argument? The pokémon fanbase gets excited for fucking new player character reveals and dumb leaks of ugly Pokémon. They are like children that love anything new.

Mythicals and legendaries should try and explain the world, even if only slightly. Kyogre made the seas, Groudon made the land, and regigigas dragged the land, etc.
Now, i propose 4 new pokemon:
>Balloloat (bellows, float, barometer)
flying/steel, causes air currents
>Jectionar (object, stationary)
normal/ice, why objects stay where they are
>Paniterro (panic, terror)
dark/ice, the chills on your back
>Decryque (decay, decrepit, antique)
poison/psychic, explains aging and decay

I think the gen that introduced "Ultra Beasts" is the fucking worst offender of all. I can't remember if it was Alola or Kalos, I skipped the 3DS generation.

Ultra Beasts, at the very least, work concept-wise tho. They are what legendary Pokémon should have been. But came too late.
I would remove all legendaries and mythical, and make them only NPC. I would, however, keep Ultra beasts. but lower the stats of some of them like Pheromosa.

Those are legendaries. The majority of legendaries is "extremely rare Pokemon". Even the latest box legendaries AND all the new legendaries from the DLC are.

I don't mind most of the legendaries but shit like the creation trio & arceus and the many other world-destroying legendaries we get every generation are such overkill. I think the planet busters should just get their very own umbrella term if nerfing their lore is too much of an ask.

Mythicals are only boring because they're all just handed to you by a mailman in the pokemon center.

Mythicals have always just been an indicator of rarity rather than power. Shaymin exists in multitudes, Manaphy eggs exist, Zeraora and Zarude are basically rare animals, and then you’ve got god tier shit like Arceus or Darkrai
