Some scenarios on how he will return in the anime:
1. AU Giovanni formed Rainbow Rocket and is fucking around in wormholes. Came to Galar and met Rose by chance. Rose tells him about Eternatus being sealed away and they form a plan to get it out. Darkest Day 2 arc begins, this time with Rainbow Rocket involved, as well as TRio and their Giovanni too. Cue funny shenanigans with Ashnime TRio and AU TRio.
2. He escapes to Crown Tundra, and does something with Calyrex and the horses. Ash, Goh, Leon, Sonia team up with Peony to stop him. This time Rose gets arrested for good.
3. He escapes to Poke Pelago and begins a hobo lifestyle with Mohn. Ash, Goh, Lillie, Gladion and Lusamine go there and Rose causes trouble for them for a bit but is also arrested in the end. Lillie and her family reunite with Mohn but he has lost his memories so they decide to give him some space for a bit but will return frequently to visit him until he regains his memories.
