>>45420687>I hate how the Dragon-type lost its identity as a super rare, very powerful typeBut for the most part, I don't think that it has. The non-pseudo non-legend dragons are:
>exeggutorI think it's cool this is an unconventional dragon, but yeah there's a valid complaint to be made here.
>altariaGen III's only real easily obtained dragon. You can tell though without how peaceful it is that they were deliberately trying to make a Dragon Type that WASN'T fearsome and badass, that's the point. It's supposed to be kinda common and it does in fact bring the Dragon reputation down a little.
>haxorusRare only in the sense it takes a long time to evolve, but there's no denying it fits under "powerful" with that attack stat.
>druddigonSomewhat rare, otherwise I'd say it's Altaria tier in the sense it brings down dragons' reputation a bit.
>kingdraSlightly above Altaria tier. It is somewhat powerful, especially in the dex entries, and is hard to obtain.
>flygonEvolves very late, sufficiently treated as something special.
>dragalgeEvolves late, fairly badass.
>tyrantrumMotherfucking T-rex.
>noivernNoibat probably should've been pure Flying, but yeah I don't think anyone would argue this isn't worthy of the moniker of dragon.
>turtonatorProbably LESS than Altaria tier. This mon is too common and non-fitting for Dragon Type far as I can tell.
>drampaIt is rare, and powerful in lore at least. A little above Altaria tier.
>applin & evosI love them but they legit ruin dragons' street cred a lot.
>duraludonType's kinda slapped on it, yeah.
From this, you can see that Dragon Type isn't THAT less special than it always was. It's just that having so many of them be only slightly above average does collectively lessen their worth overall, but it's not by much.
Really, if anything I think the fact so many mega evolutions had the Dragon Type slapped on them was what lessened its prestige the most.
