I mean, how many cartridges of HGSS were even made? It seemed like their price inflated so much more than any other pokemon game ever sold.

What I'd like to know is the percentage of how many copies got sold to how many were produced in total.

johto is an absolutely awful region and there’s only so much the gen 4 magic can do to fix it. good thing most of the problems are fixable and there’s some kino rom hacks

HGSS are totally better. But the Switch is a very healthy system with high attach rates. This game is also really good (orchestral music, overworld encounters, rideable pokemon), so it's fine. It's also a whole lot better then Sword and Shield.Those games selling as good as they do are the real problem.

HGSS are great, but the Switch is great at selling software so most non-terrible games actually get a decent number of sales there
And Let's Go isn't a bad game, it's missing quite a bit if you treat it as a mainline game, but it offers a fair amount of changes that make it stand out on it's own
Sword and Shield are the same game we've always had but lesser, especially for the time and console it launched on
