This is untrue. Platinum did this first.

The Japanese name denotes Gardevoir being male, and Gardevoir is probably based on geisha, which has been historically been played by males, while female geisha only started appearing around the 20th century.

1: Formes ≠ buff. Each forme is literally a different Pokémon in the same way Regional Variants are different Pokèmon, except that both share the same Dex Number.

2: Yeah, I forgot that one.

3: I don't think Gardevoir is based on geishas considering that it has a dress that doesn't look like a kimono.

It's a clusterfuck to explain but I'll try my best.
The reason why Nidoqueen can't breed is because they incapable of producing Male Nidoran. Nidoran male is an entirely different species.

The easiest way to fix this issue is to code both Nidorans the extact same thing just a gender difference.

The changes they've made have always been additive, with the sole exception of removing moves. It would be more likely for them to lift the gender restriction on Gallade
