Had we not gotten Journeys and instead had received a standard Sword and Shield anime, how would you do it?>Anime has Galar devastated after Darkest Day >Ash arrives after the Darkest Day >Leon is missing and is presumed dead >Hop and Marnie were actually to start their journey with Marnie being escorted by Team Yell to get her starter. >Ash, Hop, and Marnie decide to travel the Galar region to help with the rebuilding of Galar and possibly find Leon >Victor is the rival character >Ash doesn’t get a starter instead his first catch is a Dreepy that was sent flying by a Dynamaxed Pokemon that went on a rampage, Hop gets Scorbunny, Marnie gets Grookey, and Victor gets Sobble. >Pokemon that Ash gets also include Snom, Riolu, Kirlia, Zorua, Dragonair, Gengar, Galarian Farfetch’d, Galarian Darumaka, Piplup, and Torchic. Ash usually rotates them so don’t expect them all to appear everytime. >With Marnie starting with Grookey and Morpeko, she also gets Galarian Zigzagoon, Galarian Slowpoke, Milcery, and Gothita. >Starting out with Wooloo and Scorbunny, Hop also gets Toxel, Chewtle, Applin, and Impidimp >Hop is much more moody due to Leon being possibly dead. Once he learns of Rose’s involvement with Darkest Day he gets some genuine hatred for those who associate with Macro Cosmos even going far to injure Bede and Oleana’s pokemon What do you think of these ideas? What ideas do any of you have?

The Championship is postponed until further notice. > Looking for leads on his whereabouts Ash and company visit Rose's bother Peony in the Crown Tundra. >Dmax Butterfree being the first Dmax/Gmax Pokémon shown grabs the attention of the older viewer through skewed nostalgia. Giving them something familiar Ground the story in a world they are familiar with while still showing there is more to discover along the way. > The evolution of Grookey into Rillaboom guided by Ash would be nostalgic for Charizard. Grookey's excitement to train with Ash contrast the difficulties Charizard experienced during his training. This causes Charizard guilt over not approaching his training in a similar fashion, his inability to Gmax being a signal that questions if he properly trained. > Peony would show a tremendous contrast to Rose. While Peony is focused on adventure and lives in a reality centered on folk lore and the magic of life Rose exists in facts, truths, and absolutes. Showing the destruction of the Dynamax Caves foreshadows Rose's failure to fully marry these two worlds for his own goals and how he cannot reconcile the tales from his childhood woth the problems he faces in the present leading to disaster. > The Galarian Bird Trio are also a great way to convey this as again they are skewed nostalgia. They are familiar pieces of the viewers childhood, much like the Darkest Day Myth for Rose, however they are untamed and more fierce than we remember. Being reintroduced to ones childhood can sometimes be shocking and lead to questions about your growth and mastery of your present self. > Through the series Bede wouldn't be taken seriously as a trainer. He would search for identity throughout the series. Rose naming him as the True Champion would give him the identity he was looking for all along while allowing him to be hands off with the childhood "Fairy Tale" he's been forced to face. Perfect for Bede being a Fairy Type Specialist. Anonymous
>>45430236 > Leon being faced with Rose's criticism could deflate a lesser trainer but by placing this revelation right before the rising action you eliminate any chance for Leon to doubt himself. The last act he operates fully on instimce and care for those around him cementing why he is the Champion and showing it is the only role he knows to inhabit naturally. In a lot of ways, he would be shown as an older counterparts to Ash. > By placing Ash in a role that is not central to the plot you allow for more growth to the characters around him and give the viewer a better perspective to the narrative. You also don't have to depower him or remove some of his gained wisdom to place him as a rookie again. He's a knowledgeable, skilled trainer with plenty of experience. He is just seeing a lot of new things and greater challenges for the first time in a long time Anonymous

>>45431341 >Ash- Pikachu, Charizard, Rillaboom, Orbeetle, Drednaw, Sirfetch'd I would basically flesh his team out with Pokémon that fit his personality or carry common traits found in his past teams. With three spots filled already this left room for three Pokémon.
> Sirfetch'd the relentless battler. He would watch it battle over a few episodes until it successfully evolves joining his team afterwards. > Orbeetle would be the introduction to the region for Ash. It would be an easy early catch for him that didn't standout much until fully evolving. It's presence would grow and become a reliable member of his team by the final third of the series. >Drednaw would be the muscle with minimal personality but tons of heart. Would most likely be caught during a raid battle with Hop and Leon. >Hop- Dubwool, Cinderace, Bolthund, Theivul, Galarian Weezing, Cramorant. Hops team would be filled out with mainly early route mon due to him realizing later in the narrative that his heart isn't set on being a Champion. Also, he is 100% Galarian to his core and represents that by only having Galarian native Pokémon on his team. His high energy and excitable nature would be reflected through Cinderace and Bolthund. Cramorant would be used a comedic relief popping in anyrime Ash and Hop become competitive, breaking the tension by swallowing Pikachu, a motif showing that at his core Hop is a fun loving partner along for the journey instead of a serious competitor. >Marnie- Morpeko, Intellion, Coalossal, Weavile, Cursola, Galarian Slowking. Marnie's team would focus less on her Dark type specialty and more on the aesthetic she has. Her nature in the anime would be standoffish due to her uncertainty in her skills. This would be reflected in Pokémon such as Cursola and Galarian Slowking who are both mysterious Pokémon who are misunderstood. >Coalossal would be an on the nose reflection of Marnie, dark and intimidating on the outside, warm on the inside.
