the dragon came fifth and unbeknownst to the dragon, the snake had gotten scooped up in the fight between the dragon and the tiger and had been holding onto the dragon tightly the whole time, giving it sixth place
the horse and goat spent time pushing each other over different problems. in the end horse got seventh just because it was larger with the goat following after for eighth.
the monkey was playing pranks on the rooster, dog, and pig so it forgot to cross and got ninth.
the rooster, dog, and pig ended up crossing together as friends after playing for most of the race after learning of the monkey's tricks
cat got the invitation and just went back to sleep and sleep through the race.
the fox showed up to the wrong mountain, set hundreds of traps the night before, then ran the fake race by itself thinking it won.
