>>45428589>>45428603They clearly only expected POGO to be a mildly successful game that they'd let die after a year or so, instead of the massive behemoth it's become.
It's gotten a lot better because it's more of an actual game now, but so much of its mechanics are very poorly communicated.
But it's also gotten a lot worse because it's gone deeper into the scummy shit that plagues mobile games. Almost all the new content is locked behind limited time events, some of which will only last for one single day. Afterwards they're usually either made into an egg only mon or just dropped entirely. Even shitmons like the elemental monkeys or Sewaddle are unreasonably difficult to get just because they're new and they gotta keep the new mons dripfed.
And then you have features like mega evolutions which are pretty much only for paying players.
They are also heavily pushing PvP, which is a problem because PvP is absolute shit. The most current season is so hilariously unbalanced and instead of fixing it they just shrugged and made it so that you needed significantly less wins to get rewards.
The biggest tell of POGO's decline is that it only has 10% of the players it had in 2016, yet it has raked in more revenue.
