The variations are about as canon as the Carbink movie exclusive forms. That being said I would have preferred if Dada had one of the variations shown there + cape instead of just the cape. But that's GF, they wouldn't bother making a second model.

The problem with most Mythicals isn't the fact that there can be multiple, the problem is there's fuck-all to make it clear they're meant to be some of the rarest Pokemon in the entire world, and usually for good reason due to their capabilities.

I don't understand the issue here. Mythical Pokémon in Japan are called Illusory Pokémon beccause they are meant to be so rare, that some people believe that they are made up pokemon and never existed. I think the issue here is that people believe that they are meant to be super special because of Mew and Gamefreak releasing Mew similarities. This could easily explain why people think that all Mythical have to be just like Mew, something that make it very special.

If you mean that the Zarude species acknowledges father-mother relations then we have to see the movie first but Kanghaskhan was a thing in Gen 1 anyways.
