What's the point of Battle Facilities when playing against real people is both more fun, more difficult, and actually requires you to use your brain?

Playing against people is not more fun
People are a hassle to get, make excuses, and can play like faggots. Bots also have faggot strategies in the games but at least they don't act like faggots about it.
I'm here to chain battles with little thought, and bots are and will always be the best option. Battle Factory is fun if I want something more volatile/random.

not even true against 90% of online battles.
Plus, variety is always good. Sometimes I just don't feel like playing against the same ten teams that are either copypasta or "gimmick of the day where they rage quit once the gimmick flops"

Because battle facilities offer different possibilities in team building, and it's fun to strive for a high record.

You answered your own question. A lot of the fanbase doesn't want to put in effort and just wants to mash through. If it wasn't like that the games wouldn't be as devoid of challenge as they are today. Plus, you can do it without an internet connection and you don't have to wait to get a game.

facilities can be a "puzzle solving" experiment, but battling online is just using the things with the best numbers every time. Once you figure out a strat in comp, it's basically monotony until the meta shifts, but if you have a facility that changes up the rules in an interesting way, you have a good and entertaining time sink to figure out how to beat it.

Battle facilities have enormous potential that GF will never take advantage of.

There are innumerable strategies that your average non-competitive player won't know about when moving from the campaign to online. The only thing the campaign teaches is type matchups. That's it. Battle facilities could be a great place to host challenges that also show off various strategies and combinations so the player isn't completely blindsided by online autists. Plus, I just find ingame challenges fun, earning trophies and the like.

Battle facilities are a cool concept because some of them offer really good repeatability along with a good single player challenge. Playing against other people can make others not enjoy the game as much, because you develop a fear of losing. It is stressful but so are some battle facilities that work with RNG. And that is totally fine because humans can't change this, we want to win.

All in all having battle facilities in the game only serves to prop up the single player experience. You can beat the game for a longer period of time because there is more to do as a individual. Also battle facilities could be used as a co-op method just like raids are. Playing doubles with your friends is a smarter way to sell a casual game, that's why some really lucrative games like fate go and genshin impact don't have pvp. There isn't any effort involved with battling against other people in pokemon since it's just the same thing you would get from any battles without gimmicks. Other games might incorporate that to their own logic and devices and avoid pvp just to make sure the game is a nice and steady marathon instead of a fiesta.

Sometimes the AI challenges can be like a fun puzzle. Not so much the battle tower, since it's just retard AI, but the ones with some added gimmick. Heck, some of the most fun I've had in Pokemon, outside of multiplayer, was the battle factory in fourth gen, and the challenges in xd gale of darkness.
