I don't remember having trouble with it other than the fact that there were several entrances and sometimes you would go the wrong way and reach a dead end or something, but that's a good thing
mt coronet is the literal a figurative peak of the franchise

I know a lot of people share this opinion but I personally think there is value to having common pokemon be common throughout the area so that it feels more natural, and at that discovering rare pokemon like feebas feels more special
I really like the hoenn and sinnoh distributions

Well to be fair today's games have minimaps/waypoint/GPS and markers and random shit that clutter even the screen so that even literal Amebas can play the game without getting lost, at least Pokemon doesn't do that yet

no wonder Diamond and Pearl are widely considered to be among the worst pokemon games created. (Platinum was the saving grace of the gen, fixing some errors)

Mt. Coronet itself wasn't the hot topic, it was the fact that kids were too stupid to realise you had to backtrack to the first part to climb all the way to the top to finish the game, and that's why gen 5 and onward are as straightforward as they get
The dungeon itself was still linear, they even block the shortcut when Team Galaxy is still there
