13~15 years ago, Dawn/Lucas successfully chased Cyrus away from the real world and Cyrus started living and learning about the distortion world. After spending so much time there, he learns the truth of the distortion world and how to manipulate it to create the world he desires. You will play as customizable characters and the story will mention how Dawn/Lucas saved the real world. Cynthia has continued her studies in mythology and has been working actively to stop the changes that Cyrus made in the distortion which has affected the real world. Additionally, the changes that Cyrus made in the distortion world has changed the real world weather and places. This spawns new Sinnoh-ian forms of Pokemon as well as allow mega evos/z-powers/dynamax to exist. Additionally, team Galactic has not been disbanded. They were actually in seclusion to and taking commands from Cyrus. For example, the commanders, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn and Sird has been recording the changes all over Sinnoh and reporting to Cyrus. Overall, this story will reflect how human efforts can change the world (e.g., Cyrus is similar to those who don't go green to protect our Earth and Cynthia is similar to those who do go green to slow changes).
