This was unironically my process too, got Soul Silver when I was younger so I was a Lugiafag, but over time came to realize Ho-oh is just fucking gorgeous. Both are S tier legends though.

Nah I'm still Silver since Day 1. I think a lot of anons feel the way you do because /vp/ has been host to some obnoxious Lugia fetish fags and I realize that can be off-putting, but I don't let that affect me.

Ho-oh always felt like it fit the themes presented in Gen 2 better than Lugia to me. Sure lugia has the cool factor, Ho-oh just has that oh shit this bird is really a mythical creature feel to it.

really? Because even in childhood I knew Ho-Oh wasn't a version exclusive and unlike shit games with regional tour-guides (garbage evil teams AKA Plasma, Glactic, Aqua/Magma etc...), legendaries are entirely optional. But you know, enjoy missing out on Skarmory
