Most of Turner's designs are pretty good, things like Golurk and Trevenant are great.
It's just that as an art director he apparently has completely shit taste and just let any old shit designs make it off the drawing board.

He’s made a lot more good designs than bad ones. He designed Centiscorch which doesn’t remotely resemble the type of Pokémon people meme on here. You can’t just point at any new objectmon or Pokémon you don’t personally like and scream TURNER

Design approval is a team process and always has been, Turner is in no way more or less responsible now that he's Art Director. Nobody ever says this sort of shit for Sugimori or Unno or any other Art Director, only the one gaijin on the team.
