Action Replay and other cheat devices made this easy to circumvent since their introduction.
I had one for GSC called Pelican that let me get whatever Pokemon I wanted.

The stationary pokémon could be soft-reset and have their DV's determined to see if they had the right spread, smooth brain. When transferred to II they'll retain their DV's and if in the VC games, will get the shiny factor applied before getting their IV's set.

Not him and I think his idea is unecessary, but they wouldn't have to be stronger in the same sense. Perhaps they could gain xp at a faster rate or something. They wouldn't be fundamentally stronger in competitive or anything but they would be more effective ingame.

Personally I hope they are making it easier in more recent games to ease players into a future where, instead of shinies being a single rare color pallet, you can find pokemon in a variety of colors and patterns at varying rarity and displacement.

I think they should'nt be that special to begin with, like other anons said they're just palette swaps. GF really needs to fix them and make Stadium-ish color variations even if that means there's only 2 colors with the original being the main one (4 counting gender differences like Hippodown) and the appearance ratio is just 40%.

That statement is vacuous as fuck anon this logic can be applied to literally anything in life. The only people who would give a fuck about a palette swap in childs would say shinies have value are the ones who are already invested in the community to some extent. Just because some people have fraudulent means to catch their shinnies should take away from people who shiny hunt the old fashioned way and earn their colorful pixels fair and square

Have you played Pokemon Go recently? They hand out shinies everywhere, they have entire days dedicated to handing out shinies of a specific pokemon at least once a month.
