there was a version of tyranitar that was already partly designed during the development of gen1, and they decided to give it the same bst as, and be a counterpart to, dragonite in gen 2 because they had no creativity. its been a tradition ever since, but they keep making more and more actual legendaries, AND legendaries can evolve now, so pseudos are completely pointless
mothra bitch actually has unique lore and is more like what dragonite was in gen 1 than any actual canon pseudos
