>>45468606>Allowing a gaijin to design Pokemon (pic related)I didn't think he was all that bad for gen 8, it was at least better than what the designs for gen 7 were, but I'm content knowing I'm in the minority on that.
>Switching to 3D graphicsAlmost certainly. It's already been talked about to death, but you can't really maintain a suspension of disbelief as strong when the games look and act virtually identical to their 2D counterparts. Also, when animations/sprites/lighting/graphics in general are more minimalist, it allows for more of the game to be up to your imagination, which is at least my understanding of how RPGs were originally intended to function.
Pretty much all of my favorite games have PS1&2/N64/Gamecube/DS level graphics, and I grew up with a Wii for most of my childhood.>Cutting the national dexThat was inevitable; I'm surprised they didn't to it sooner. That's pretty much how I went about gen 6 when I found out I needed to find some random guy that has Tangela in the Friend Safari just to get one before Pokemon Bank was introduced.
>something elseOverall, GF has been following a general trend that Nintendo has been following in the past decade to, in a way, make games that gamers want rather than games that stand on their own as simple and unique fun. Even then, the biggest problem with most Nintendo games nowadays is that these people are constantly trying to find new things to tie their games to instead of improving what people already like about the old ones, and maybe even misunderstanding why people liked the old games in the first place (the most common example is Paper Mario, but I personally feel that Mario Odyssey and Zelda BotW are chronic examples of the latter).
Also fuck Toby Fox and his overrated ass.
