I hate them. They are a symptom of Pokemon degraded art style. Not only are they drawn in that horrible nu gen artstyle, they would not even be able to be salvaged by being drawn in the old art style since the designs are so fucking overdesigned and shit.

Ultra just means "beyond". They're creatures from far-off worlds, AKA ultra beasts.

love them. I want more. the concept of literal alien pokemon is so cool, and they nailed the execution. UBs are very weird looking, as they should be, but the great thing about them is they still look like Pokemon. they're still very cool design-wise. Also the little worlds you find them in was just a bonus. Guzzlord's world was my favourite.

Ultra Beasts were always going to be a one time thing, I don't know why anybody ever expected otherwise. They're blatantly just Alola's version of Legendaries, it's like being mad that Galar doesn't have its own Tapus. Ultra Beasts were a great play on invasive species coming to Hawaii.

There's nothing ironically good about Buzzwole, it's just good. Visually pleasing color scheme, good anatomy that's humanoid but bizarre, a nice merger of the comical and the unsettling.
