This is the best track in all of Pokémon. It perfectly encapsulates everything the adventure is meant to be. It's not too extravagant, but the melody is upbeat and catchy, and just as exciting as a city should be. Also, the buildup to and the climax itself (0:35) are exactly that: a climax for your ears. At this moment, the song feels like it could be the credits theme all by itself. But the drums are always there to keep you grounded, so that the melody effortlessly comes back down to earth.
Unlike a battle theme, Goldenrod stands on its own. Just walking into the city is all you need to set the mood. Other cities like Jublife capture that particular mood well (especially at night) but Goldenrod is timeless. The city is always a lively place to be.
