Oldfag returning to the series after my last game Crystal, which is my favourite.

Which one should I buy? They are all going for like $100 on eBay so I need to make sure it's worth it.

Platinum or White 2? Can I play White 2 without playing White? It looks better.

I actually think you may have fun with the first Black and White games considering it’s the only game to throw all new stuff at you. Then when you finish you’ll see some familiar Pokemon and other stuff.

Well I think I might be able to find one for $80
That seems high
I am an oldfag so I have no idea how to emulate. I would need to buy a DS Lite or something too so maybe I am looking at more like $150

None that matter, if your computer is good enough you cen even emulate ds games at a higher internal resolution

Drastic is the phone emulator. You can just google the apk for it and download that for free.

Man I don't really understand any of this at all. I have a job so I think I might just pony up for a DS Lite and a hard copy of White 2. Ninety bucks for one game is a shit load though. I just don't see it dropping, stuff like this always appreciates in value, it'll be $120 this time next year

Controls aren't as good since you can't use the stylus for the menus or battling. Also, even with a good PC, expect some slowdown here and there. Besides these pretty small issues it's totally playable, if you can't find any cartridges less than $100 than it's definitely your best bet. Seriously though, try and look a little harder. I found White 2 a few years ago for $25 (with no box, but still worth it).

download desmume, download ROM (you can just google “nintendo ds archive” to find pages with hundreds of them and then ctrl+f to pokemon) click file, open ROM and open the ROM you installed and it will work. you can watch a youtube video on “best desmume settings” and copy them to play around with graphics stuff, control settings are pretty easy to find too.

You lazy dumbfuck, it's not even that hard. Download the .apk for Drastic. If you can't even do that, buy it from the play store. Then, go onto Vimm's Lair and download the ROM for whatever game you want. Think with your brain, not with your wallet.

Allow me to throw my two cents in, if you're still browsing the thread. I feel like you should start with Platinum over White 2, since you've only played up to Crystal. They're both some of the best games of the series, but Platinum has a few nods to Johto as well as just simply just feeling more like it as a region, so the transition will be less jarring. White 2 certainly peaks higher but in my opinion it has one of the weakest starts of the series and dealing with that hurdle could completely disinterest you.
