I dunno why you all gotta defend your favorite gens like it's your wife/husband's life being at risk... Chill a bit with the genwars! All Pokemon Gens have brought us something good, with some disappointment, but they all had one thing is common, they were all amazing games!
Johto was a wonderful pokemon game after the success of kanto. Hoenn was the transition into a more colorful world with cool new designs and a tropical region that felt so alive and full of spirit, finding the regis on our own with braille felt so mysterious and satisfying.
Sinnoh wasa sort of slow antique paced region in the good sense, loved the lore mythology and searching for moe information in the library in the 7th gym. gen 5 wasan odd one... it didn't feel like pokemon until later but it was clear the amount of effort and attention to detail that was put into it, aged like fine wine. gen 6 was made with the transition from ds to 3ds in mind, so they tried to make it look beautiful and x/y delivered on that, while oras was apparentely disappointing to many, the fact they introduced the soaring the skies on latios/latias as well as going to space to capture deoxys, which has been what we as kids thought and dreamt of doing, was pretty nostalgic and spectacular, ty for that.
Alola was the next big thing just before the transition to the switch, so they tried to go all out on delivering the best quality before their generation, it has a gen 5 vibe to it, but feeling completely like a pokemon game.
While yes, they could have done some thing differentely, for the better in the eyes of many, it also means they did look and listen to the fans' wishes. Oh and most importantly, the one thing they never consistently disappoint is the music. Flaweless everytime.
(Didn't include sword and shield cuz I haven't finished the dlcs yet, so can't fully base my opinion yet).
Love all the gens, even with its flaws!
