Imo the last decent male design was Gen 3 and even that one turned out to be fake since Gen3 dude's hair wasn't actually white as it was retconned in ORAS to be just a hat. From Gen 4 onwards the female MC's outshine the males in every aspect - better and more memorable visual design, occasional ashnime presence(Dawn and Serena), mainstream media presence(porn, Scottishgirl/Chickenchan memes), marketability(figurines), overall they just look more appealing. Imo Game Freak should just ditch the male MC option next Gen since the new male MC's are so bland and pointless anyways.
