single battles are impossible to finish normally, most of them will time out because the way Sword and Shield have timer is dumb.
not only do you have less time before the battle times out, the timer NEVER stops ticking down.
even during the move animations, some of which are long as hell.

Add a 25 turn limit instead of a real time clock timer, whoever has the most Pokemon/hp if the turn limit is reached wins.
give each player 40 seconds to make their turn, if they run out of time moves are selected randomly.

Really not that hard to figure this shit out, not sure why a billion dollar developer is dumber than /vp/ is.

This board is honestly the most embarrassing group of Pokémon “fans”. It is definitely an oversight, though. One better balanced by making some mechanical tweaks rather than implementing a strict timer that makes an entire format unplayable. Here's a constructive suggestion, why not make Heal Pulse ineffective against your opponent? That would stop Funbro completely. And nothing but Funbro gets anywhere even close to 1k turn battles.

I still think it's retarded for the animations to count towards the timer.
Just have the timer exclusively tick down while you're making inputs. Your timer only ticks down while you're deciding, but not while your opponent is deciding. That way the one who's wasting time loses and timer stall can't be a viable strategy.
Maybe also reduce the timer to 10 or even 5 minutes, since it's all menu time.
