Gen 6 as a whole, or Let’s Go.
There‘s plenty wrong with Pokémon games but from gen 1-5 you could see there was effort, soul, and love poured into the games. Then X&Y happens and I think “....well where did it all go?”
I think megas are ugly and denoted the start of the shitty meta trend we deal with, that’s my opinion.
The difficulty is sterile, the effort has left the building in storytelling (ridiculous story, ridiculously annoying rivals and uninteresting/boring dialogue in general, ridiculous motivation of the arch nemesis and also the people around him “ahh silly Lysander, saying he’s going to nuke the world. That guy.”), and it was the first time it felt like another game was pretending to be Pokémon.
The chibi overworld trainer style could’ve been excused if they later in the generation improved upon it, but no, wait until gen 7 for people to have appropriate spine sizes since this was greenlit for a whole gen.
It’s clear they are the most unfinished games which SwSh would’ve been the crowned king if not for the Crown Tundra and IoA expansion, redeeming any emptiness the game may have had, which wasn’t as obvious as X&Y were with their unexplored AZ story, the multiple locations you could not enter, and more.
ORAS was a greater travesty than X&Y because not only did it lack originality
>STOP. Before replying, understand that FRLG and HGSS did have originality outside of being a remake, and that I am not criticizing the game for things remakes do
, but it wasn’t even as complete as the game it was made after. The way they throw mega stones in saying
>it’s another parallel dimension where megas DO exist
is so lazy I can’t see straight I’m so annoyed.
No, it does not matter if Battle Frontier was in Emerald only, it is monkey tier effort they need to put in to make this if they can shoehorn in the Zinnia story and cinematics, which very much detract from the sense of wonder we had as kids climbing the tower to reach rayquaza.
