I've been thinking about playing Gen 7 again next month. I remember hating how annoying was Rotom, all the dialogues, the fade to black screens and all, but its been a while since I played. What does /vp/ think about Gen 7 after these years?

Played and finished Sun on release but I have tried ultra sun multiple times years later and can never get past the second island due to the constant interruptions from other characters and rotom. Always put it down.

almost same here, finished moon. Picked up ultra and by time got to second part of story I got so bored that I dropped the game. For me whole thing felt like a movie rather then a game

i tried to replay it after i found out you could catch a wild salamence before leaving the first island, after i did that i tried to continue the game with a shiny bagon and the salamence but it was too annoying so i quit

Honestly I kinda like it, they tried something new and the Trials were a good change from Gyms. Cut scenes are no more egregious than any other JRPG. Rotom is a shit, fight or fuck off. Team Skull were fun goofy villains. Oh and no HM bullshit was beautiful. All in all it wasn't bad.

Final Fantasy(everything in the double digits MMOs not withstanding), Lost Oddysey, Neptunia (considering obligatory VN sections too), Cybersluts, probably a few others.

well i played cybersleuth and hackers memories and the gameplay sections without cutscenes are much much longer than sm. the big issue with nu pokemon is that they are very short rpgs with tiny play areas, with cutscenes spaced very close together

Cyber Sleuth has a lot of copypaste environments and a lot of the side missions are just going back to samey areas and doing the same thing over and over again

i just skipped through a letsplay of trails of cold steel on youtube, and after an introductory cutscene of 5 -ish minutes you are into gameplay
it takes 20 minutes to fight your first wild pokemon in sunmoon
