Im a gen5fag but i disagre with you, considering the gen4 games where the first steps for the Pokemon games in a new handheld i can forgive most of the errors of D/P and in anyway they released Platinum that fixed the game plus also having the Battle Frontier, so in general they are quite nice.

I'm so glad that people are starting to be more vocal about how atrocious gen 4 was, I hated it since I first played it and once I started coming here I genuinely couldn't believe there were people that unironically hailed these pieces of dogshit as the "peak" of the franchise.

Mt Coronet was too big and labyrinth like. I hope in the remakes an earthquake broke a massive chasm through the middle of it to allow easier passage.

There's a difference between a proper challenge and adventure, and something being poorly design and in turn tedious. It's like Yakuza 1's Kazuto Arase, that fight isn't hard, it's outright unfair. You don't actually use your skills and what you've learned combat wise to beat him, it's all artificial difficult that doesn't make you feel accomplished once you beat it. Instead of "Wow man, I can't believe I pulled it off! That was great!" you just feel "Goddammit, glad that shit's finally over, fuck this".
