The downsides are that motion controls kinda suck, they refused to make a genuine Kanto remake for a 2nd time, and the game is both simplified and already easy to hell and back.
Aside from that, there's plenty of fanservice and definitely did some good things for Kanto as a region that FRLG didn't. It feels more like a watered down version of HGSS than FRLG in all honesty. The removal of HMs and decision to go open world is pretty great too.
All in all, it's not worth $60 but definitely worth a shot if you can get your hands on it.

It's a quick, simple pokemon game. It improved Pokemon variety in Kanto by moving a lot of Pokemon around and having trades for Alolan forms. If you play in handheld the motion controls are mostly eliminated, so catching pokemon is a lot easier. It won't give you a challenge, but Let's Go is a pretty good way to experience Kanto.

The catching mechanic is maddening and makes grinding a chore because you actually have to pay attention and refill balls over and over. I liked the extra dialogue and cut scenes for characters though.

First the cons:

>It's literally pokemon yellow in 3D, single stage pokemon are back so it closer to the gen 1 experience.

didn't know about this. do things like that happen in pokemon go as well, or is it something they came up with for lgpe?

>Had NPCs can be battled in co-op mode, but their teams don't change to double battle teams so the players are facing off NPCs 2v1. We could've had another game like Colosseum or GoD where most battles are double battles
>Partner Pikachu and Eevee can't evolve
