Oh wait, you can't, because that breaks the notion of leaving it up in the air due to the ability for the player to pick their gender and appearance meaning an absolute canonical outcome would end up inconsistent, and that would leave players wondering where "their guy/girl" is.
With Red, that issue doesn't exist, because he was established before the gender select was.
