>>45546512Yes. There is a bit of a competitive nuance here which someone who never played in a real tournament before would never understand (and I’m willing to bet that’s like 99% of /vp/ posters). Hyper offense teams like Marco’s were popular on ladder and BSD due to their ease of use and how quickly they let you grind up points. For bigger tournaments, most top players favor fatter teams since theyre more consistent and less prone to hax which is important when you play 9 rounds of Swiss for 10 fucking hours and youre only allowed to lose 0-1 round if you want to have a chance to advance to day 2. Marco took a bit of a risk here taking this team to such an important tournament, but he was likely very comfortable piloting it and if you watched the stream he got extremely lucky in a few games anyways.
Btw that tournament was back in February, we’re in VGC21 right now and Duraludon and Sylveon arent very good anymore.
