>>45561008I'll be honest, I thought the story for the most part was done fairly well. Characters have understandable motives for their actions, many tend towards being sympathetic, the villains aren't just big evil doomsday mustache-twirlers and there's some level of complexity with Taka and Solaris in particular, and even the 'cringey' moments like the tranny teaching you pronouns aren't horribly egregious (the whole 'neither black or white, male or female' is meant to tie into the themes of that particular part of the game) nor do they overstay their welcome.
However, Pokemon is not the platform to tell the story the Reborn writer wants to, and some of the more interesting narrative ideas, such as a literal void that encompasses the insecurities and fears of the cast personified, come off as extremely out of place juxtaposed next to me sending out my cute pink bear to fight a cute pink blob. It just doesn't work.
>>45561080And assuming you're OP as well, I have the same exact same problems with Rejuvenation. Fine game, fine gameplay, fine storytelling and for the most part nice dialogue, Pokemon is just not the setting. I sympathize with both people who hate these games and who like them.
Now go on, bring out the tranny shitposting and whatnot
