>>45562977I meant scripting in the programming sense. Basically, every event in the game follows a script on what action to take based on various flags. Shit like that is super easy, you don't have to make any meshes, textures, maps, animations, or any of the hard stuff. Just make things move around and spout text at you. And you know what, the side quests are basically just that, but efficiently make the game feel better. Even the ones that give you no intrinsic reward, but instead the extrinsic reward of seeing a Pokemon do what it is said to do in the Pokedex and other sources. Speaking of, the overworld Pokemon, both those you can interact with and those in the background, also make the world feel more alive (the overworld cries in RS also served a similar purpose).
