I think the types that Game Freak has absolutely bungled the most are Electric, Fighting, Psychic, and Fairy. Electric for reasons everyone here has stated, fighting because its theme is most of the time not even explored and they just make most of them "it punches hard and likes to fight so it's fighting type".
Psychic and Fairy are a fucking mess mainly ever since Fairy was introduced. Psychic should be focused more on ESP manipulation and mental fortitude, and Fairy on mischievous magical fae, but really it's just a fucking mishmash and neither type has a strong identity of its own.
Ice is also a close contender mainly because there's so few of them and their designs overall can be kind of weak. And then Fire not because the designs are shit, but because it suffers from what Electric does of "elemental animal that is red/orange". It's no where as bad as Electric's though, Fire does explore the type much better.

Drifblim takes too many liberties, and I don't think anyone could ever look at it and say it's JUST a hot air balloon.
