His favorites are Garbodor and Gloom and I rank both highly as well. I like Espeon a lot more than he does. And his ratings for the last 2 gens have been way too generous. Handing 5s out all over the place for a bunch of mons I don't care for at all.

Artist who runs a monster review blog. I don't care for his art but he has like 20 years worth of articles covering everything from tokusatsu and movie monsters to creature collecting games and toy lines, as well as real animals. It's a lot of fun if you're into creature designs and biology. He gets a lot of shit on 4chan for being onions but who cares.

He's not really a contrarian in the sense that I don't think he goes against popular opinion for the sake of it. He just doesn't care for humanoid designs and has a hard on for weirder and more unique looking creatures.

It's not really hard to see why with Gen 8. It's probably the weakest batch of new Pokémon in the franchise overall, and I could tell from the moment it first leaked that there was very little that would appeal to Bog because there was very little that appealed to me.
