I really need to double check my park to see if I can edit the stops, there are three patches of fucking nothing that should have stops. I've seen the option to edit the poi on a couple of questionably irrelevant gyms here and there but haven't needed to move them.

I think it works better to have a fuckton of things in Ingress since the game is just "connect the dots". Furthermore, you can only "spin" their stops a limited amount of times, like 5x per 4 hours or some similar kikery.

I don't think anyone for sure knows what fuckass rating system Niantic uses, but the assumption is it's an ELO system.
Season 6, like Season 4, has a mix of straight "Win X to rank-up" with no risk for losses other than wasted time. The top ranks are rating based, and generally 3 wins and up gets you a rating gain while 2 wins and lower gets you a rating loss, with more rating changes equivalent to distance from the median. (3-2 is about 10+ rating, 2-3 is about 10- rating, 5-0 can be upwards of 60+ rating and 0-5 can be the same in reverse)

There are people that actually try to get to r10/24 even though there are thousands upon thousands of cheaters, on top of lag and insane amounts of luck. I really don't understand what they were thinking with GBL. Might as well get into competitive coin flipping. Shame they didn't make a pseudo version of the main games with it being turn based, at least then lag and shit connection wouldn't be such a huge factor.

Ranks 1-20 have no visible rating, once you win enough to get out to/out of rank 20 you get placed based on your win/loss or invisible rating and start with that. If you are rated at 2600 on exiting rank 20, you'll still be bumped to rank 21, and as soon as you clear one set (without dropping below 2500) you'll be bumped up to rank 22. This was how the system worked with ranks 7 and 8 in older seasons, anyway.

I'm a firm believer that having an "auto-fast-attack" button would also reduce lag or mitigate a lot of the problems associated with lag, but apparently I'm alone in that thought process. Cheaters getting rank 1's or literally whatever IV spread they want + all regionals like Tropius and Durant makes it sound unfair, but in reality those players are either the minority, don't care about ranking, are just as likely to be RPSed as you, or all really suck.
People tend to take Silph cups more seriously than GBL, from what I've seen online.

Presumably you get bumped to 21 after your gimme set, and then just fall deeper and deeper into the hole <2000 while keeping rank 21 similar to how people who went <3000 after hitting rank 10 were still rank 10 and earned those awards at the end of the seasons.
I'd bet that rank 21 awards the ETM similar to how rank 7 did.

They really should just revamp the entire combat mechanic. It's fucking retarded to have so many timescales for moves, it should be universal like the actual games but with 2 moves. Maybe even automate fast attacks and add special queuing. Anything really besides the shit fest it is now.

2000 mmr to go 20 ->21
2500 mmr to go 21 ->22
So presumably you can never reach rank 21 if you tank to a low mmr early on.

I do it every update for these very reasons. It's unnaccepatble to have a game like this where you can only rank up by winning a certian number in any set. The last season where it was based on wins is how it should be, it completley discourages cheating because it doesn't matter. Then at the end of the season they can give you their bullshit grade and say "you got XXXXmmr!" And then make a leaderboard after to see where you ended up.

In my opinion, the cost of tickets remotely is too high, also considering the covid period and the inability of many to go to a gym to monetize. Remote tickets should be too expensive, considering the inhumane catch rate of some legendaries like Kyurem.

Remote ticket prices should be much lower, 250 pokecoins for 3 tickets is far too high cost.

As for the content drip it's really basic f2p bullshit. You can say it's terrible design, which it is in many ways, but in the end it works and it keeps people coming back for the dripfeed. Inconvenient but efficient. And they wouldn't want to cannibalize mainlines so nintendo/TPC probably already have a whole road map laid out for the drip so it stays "good" but not "too good". You can't fault industry standard practice. But then again global fucking trading was also the standard since the internet is a thing.

it's really nice how the starters basically don't exist outside of eggs or spoofing
it's really nice how there's two seperate pokemon that need 400 candy to evolve
it's really nice how basically everything has a 20% base catch rate or worse, including the gen 6 version of rattata and pidgey
it's really nice how there's going to be half the dex locked behind eggs, raids or regionals and hawlucha no doubt will require extensive amounts of GBL grind when GBL is full P2W moving forward
it's really nice how all 3 legendaries are totally nonfunctional until the FOMO event where they get a move to make them remotely usable
it's really nice how they nerfed doublade and aegislash to uselessness pre-release yet still will make them unfairly difficult to obtain
overall yes i'm really glad niantic have realised they can just do whatever the fuck they want with no tangible consequences because it's the franchise with absolutely no faults no matter what

It's really nice that there's something to look forward to.
It's really nice that there's something to work at.
It's really nice that things are not going to be free.
It's really nice to have a constant drip of content. Stagnation is the enemy.
It's really nice that they're letting non-legendary pokemon have a little time to shine.
It's really nice that the BANNED TO UBERS pokemon might be usable but not busted.
Overall, it could have been better, and this feel like the bare minimum, but compared to the mainline games I'm satisfied.

I think that back when they made that icon the game only had kanto pokémon, so it was designed as a generic pokédex icon instead of a "kanto" pokédex
