Sounds stupid at first, but on further reflection it might make sense for the first Pokemon that can't be represented with three decimal digits to be a literal index out of bounds error. I still feel like they'll try to make a bigger deal out of it, since Pokemon #1000 could easily also be:
>the first Pokemon of Generation 10
>the Pokemon specifically chosen to represent the 30th anniversary of the series
>the first Pokemon to debut after Pokemon GO has caught up to the main series games

Since Porygon is a Pokemon made from data, I could see it working. Something like an experiment to see if they can make Pokemon come alive from dex entries, but something goes wrong and they accidentally choose a number that the dex they’re using doesn’t have registered—maybe one of the Water/Flying types to explain the typing—and that’s how it comes to be.

OP's image was drawn & posted to Twitter by one of the TCG artists and it later got deleted. If affiliated artists can't even reference it on their own time then I doubt it'd ever show up as a canon mon.

You just know they wanted the Tepig line to be a shillmon line. The one evolutionary starter line with dual typing is of course the fugliest fire/fighting pig that should have been a dark type but whatever.
