Is just a alien movie with a skin of pokemon, take the pokemon part and the movie don't change at all

it's ok for a kids movie, and even a longtime fan can get some enjoyment from seeing the (surprisingly decent) roster on screen. really dragged down by the leads tho, the nog and the girl are absolutely atrocious, they must have saved a lot of money by casting them

It looks pretty good. I was expecting the movie to suffer from the uncanny valley effect in animation, but the Pokemon hit a pretty good spot between realism and the in-game-design.

But the plot is stupid, and the more you think about it, the less sense it makes. It also has some serious pacing issues in the middle.
And it doesn't help that the human protagonists have the presence and charisma of a brick.

All in all, pretty meh.

Movie was ok, it was great to show Pokemon setting for new audience
Pokemon designs were mostly great, I dont understand why they gave Ludicolo fingers though.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I usually enjoy similar low-thought summer blockbuster fare.
I'm wouldn't nominate it for any awards or anything, but it's a comfy enough movie that I added it to my collection.

It was an ok movie.

What really made it enjoyable was the fact the story was set in universe and none of that "portal to our world bullshit" lots of other movies do. They also didn't spend 20 minutes trying to explain the concept of pokemon to normies they sort of just go with it.

The pokemon fights were cool and I hope we can get more movies/tv show set in this version of the pokemon world.

I thought it was great! Lots of fun, fantastic acting all around. Ryan Reynolds was a pretty safe casting choice, and although I usually think those are weak moves on the studio's part, guy really came through on this one. Pic related made my dick hard as fuck, but it's nevertheless a great film for the whole family. I can't wait to someday watch it with my kids.
