The gen4 BF had more balance to it.
The gen3 BF had more options.
We almost had a BF in gen7 in USM, but it was like a super shitty spread out version of gen4's... Sadly I think this is as close as we'll ever get again.
SwShit is just Battle Tower x50. Same as Gen5.

too bad emerald has that "open level" thing, but I guess it's better than ruby/sapphire's battle tower where your level 60's have to fight against level 100's (even Crystal's was better)

i just wish GF did go further with this option because the battle pike feels like a small rougelite they could easily made something simillar like

>you can save anytime but not leave the adventure
>make it so that when you finish the adventure first you get deeper into the cave repeat the same again but this time the catchable boss has better IV's and some ev's invested into its set or further into the dungeon diving hidden ability, or a special move and holds a rare item or higher chance for shiny or a special shiny with a better colour palet(some mons need it)
>max 5 times you can deep dive but every dive will be harder than the last one

there you have it and from stages/dives 1-3 you can also encounter pseudo legendaries but they hold rarer items, have normally perfect iv's or give more points when you implement a point system to it

I'd say Emerald had the best frontier for the widet variety of facilities, followed by Platinum/HGSS, followed by BW2's combination of the PWT, the Subway, and the one you forgot, Black Tower/White Treehollow making for an excellent grinding spot and a super fun battle facility, followed by every other facility the series has had, followed by SS battle tower. How the fuck are you gonna gut Supers and Multis?
