Is this the new le epic comeback? Charizard and Blastoise have a very small niche in VGC. Charizard actually used to be relevant last season but the power creep caused by the CT mons make him too inconsistent. Even if you still wanna insist that they're good by that metric Venusaur is obviously leagues ahead better

GMax isn't as good in BSS because you're only damaging one Pokemon with the passive damage instead of two. Generally setting up sun for yourself for the next attack(s) is more worth it. In doubles it's not really an issue because you can just set up sun with the other Pokemon you have out instead.

Bulbasaur is Masuda's favorite starter, so he gives its family special treatment.
Charizard still gets the bulk of the shilling because it's marketable, of course, but Venusaur gets to actually be good.
