The designs are bland and beyond gen 5’s cartoonishness
The graphics are complete dogshit and no amount of “b-but it was the first 3D gaimu” justifies the framerate, garbage futureproofed models, or the complete lack of proportions. Either go fill 3D or stay 2D top down, don’t try to do both, it’s just awful.
Don’t get me started on the story. No you cannot detach the story from the quality of the game like a baby puts fingers in their ears, it’s bad, the villains are weak, Lysander is completely nuts but worst of all the people around him are even dumber to go with him or to dismiss him as silly, the symbols the box legendary represent are vapid, and if you snip out the story and “rivals” minus Serena this game gets a lot better, but alas, you cannot.
It is incredibly outdated and not old enough to warrant “soul” because it is at its core the very representation of how pokemon has gone down hill, though that could be said of all gen 6.
Face it, nobody who dislikes this game has any reason to be sorry for putting zoomies in their place.
