My argument is that for Talonflame to exist competitively in any capacity, he needs to use heavy duty boots, so he's locked out of choice items that could give him an actual offensive, he's locked out of things like flying gems which aren't even in the newest games, can't use the best flying type move since it deals recoil, can't use a priority heal anymore, and if he takes literally any damage, he's effectively worthless. Stealth Rock existing means he's completely locked out of actual meaningful items, so the only way he's even slightly useable, is with set up which is ruined if he's hit even once, and he's STILL walled by literally any rock type.
