Well, I've taken a few hours to think it over, and I just can't afford to add it to my team. The game already has me in a hard place and changing my team now would only make it worse. Chansey needs an Eviolite to be better than Blissey, so it would be best to just evolve it, but shinny Blissey is the worst shiny in all of Pokemon.

I'm just going to have to box it. The one time I get a shiny in a rom hack....

Clover is the best fan game out there and it isn't even close. Other difficulty hacks require grinding (Kaizo), aren't actually that tough (Drayano can be beat with shitmons and 0 team comp), or have an inconsistent difficulty curve (Radical Red). Clover meanwhile has two regions, consistent ramping difficulty, and some good tunes

I had heard that the E4 was turbo broken and you're right, it made the E4 piss easy enough to sweep through first try. That said, I have no desire to replay that game, it was way more tedious than fun

Clover is easy as fuck until Carlito where the difficulty skyrockets if you're not using one of the very specific mons the game gives you, then becomes pathetic until the E4 where it again massively skyrockets because noooooo you can't just put decent grinding systems before postgams nooooooo.
Then all of postgame is piss easy until Mt. Clover where the literal only difficulty comes from the first 2 Shadow Council ambushing you in weird spots.
Radical Red has a weird difficulty curve too but at least its not braindead easy and then BAM super hard for one boss, its braindead easy then BAM super hard for like a string of hard bosses before becoming easy again. It also leads into the E4 way better and doesn't fuck your ass if you want to EV train

Of course you can SEE when a Pokemon is getting overlevelled. But again, there's no way to stop EXP gain short of just boxing it. Turning the EXP share off is only going to increase the amount of grinding later on, and it doesn't solve your problem anyway since now the rest of your underlevelled team now isn't getting any EXP either to catch up.

Like what the fuck is YOUR view of how the game is meant to be played on Insane? Every single time you get a strong Pokemon you HAVE to box it instead of use it, otherwise the entire game falls to pieces? Or should I be catching 2 of the same species to switch out every time one of them dares to level up?
And god forbid you catch something new and want to add it to your team. have fun grinding it up to equal the rest of your team without audino, lucky egg, and you can't even have a single other Pokemon in your party when you do it since it's all levelled to your highest.

How can't you see that a system that punishes you for playing, causes levelling up to make you weaker instead of stronger, and turns the entire game into endless micromanaging of levels isn't even slightly fun?
Levelling works perfectly fine as is, it didn't need to be overhauled into something that doesn't give a single advantage. A level cap would do the same thing but with less grinding involved, this is objectively garbage.

You have:
- Seeds which grant you +2 Speed
- A metric fuckton of fire moves and mons that can melt the field with tons of options for it, Heat Wave, Lava Plume, Flame Burst, etc. and only 3 of her mons know Cold Truth (Walrein is also too slow to use it properly)
- Pyukumuku can Purify the field and once you break it she can't reset it
- Torkoal from the Safari Zone as well as tons of rain/sun setters, and she cannot reset hail or set up Aurora Veil
- Rattled mons like Granbull or Alolan Persian for speed boosts
- Strong dark types do exceptionally well in the battle as well, like Houndoom, Pangoro, or a free Incineroar you can grab if you didn't choose it as the starter
There's ways of working around the field. That's one of the nastier fields and fights in the game, but there's ways of working around it.

I don't really see how that's a counter to 'you're the one sucking ass' but I'll humor you, Emerald Enhanced has it.

I played the game on default difficulty. The one the creator intended you to play the game on and likely the one with the most thought put into the balance. You still have the level scaling mechanic, it's just much more flexible.
If you're playing the game on the highest difficulty, harder than the hard mode, and you're complaining about the game not catering to you or the balance being wonky? I like difficulty hacks because I like team building and figuring out how to use different Pokemon to solve problems.
This hack simultatneously punishes you from catching new Pokemon by making it a chore to grind them up, and makes actually using the team you already built impossible because you're forced to box anything you get that's strong, while taking all the QoL stuff that CFRU added and hiding them from you to increase the amount of tedious shit you have to do at every turn.

And this does happen....on Hard mode. And even on Hard mode, exp management is insanely fucking easy. Like, you genuinely have to be clinically retarded to just not turn off the Exp Share, and/or swap to a different lead.

And also, I know for a fact that most people discussing the difficulty of this hack are parroting shitposters that never played it. The E4 wasn't even as hard as the eight gym or THAT event at the Cerulean cave. Hell, the only time I was truly blocked and had to spend some time strategizing was Koga.
Maybe I just happened to have a great match-up 5 times in a row?
Hack was pretty good. Never had the possibility to train so many pokemons without mind-numb grinding, a shame I had to bring just 6 to the final stretch.
If it had a new good region and story this would have easily been my favourite hack ever, but it's still fucking KANTOOOOOO. So Clover remains the best one.
I'm sure someone is going to take this as a starting point and make an even greater game.

Not a bad hack but I do have a few problems with it.
1. Gen 4 music takes me out of the game hard
2. You can't pick May. Taking out the other PC choice in a Gen 3 hack is really dumb.
3. Level curve is a mess after Winona, I had to actively come up with ways to not outlevel everything between Fortree and Seafloor Cavern and then suddenly all of the major trainers were well higher than my entire team. Didn't matter that much in the long run since the AI can be easily exploited especially if you use the Crystal Onix line which just baits them into spamming water moves.

Top team is the one I used vs the last gym. Focus Sash Lucario + Sand Rush Drill + DD Flygon won by themselves (based flygon killed everything else after a DD when drill died after KOing mega aero)
Bottom party is my main team + box with my rotation mons at the top (12 total)

We already know some of their mons. I mean we're definitely up against a Salamence and most likely Dittoceus again. I would be shocked if there wasn't a Jirachi (either Ditto'd or real) as well.
The 18th Gym is gonna be fun since it'll likely be on Dragon's Den terrain and we know Saphira has a Dragonite...which has Multiscale and is boosted on Dragon's Den, removing it's dragon weaknesses (and Dragon's Den nerfs Ice to effectively be 1x damage even while supereffective). It also boosts Dragon Dance to +2 Atk and Spd iirc. So enjoy a Dragonite with only rock as a 2x weakness with +2 Atk/Spd throwing out 240 BP Outrages, that also has Roost and probably Leftovers to keep getting the Multiscale bonus.

I kind of hate brawly’s replacement in blazing emerald. I guess thematically for the gym it makes more sense but ocs in rom hacks are always kinda gay. I’m not too fond of the starter choices either. As mentioned a bunch of times already the gen 4 music can be very weird. I do appreciate the way hoenn looks at night but it does make it rather annoying that I can only do certain things during the day.

I imagine the best pokemon on reborn of each type is usually the best pokemon in all games/competitive. Unless you mean in terms of usefulness ingame?

for instance, the best bug type definitely is volcarona, but you get it when the game is almost over. A good 2nd option would be Vivillon that you have access way earlier and is extra based due to Protect (broken in doubles) and Compundeyes Sleep Powder/Hurricane

Same thing with dragon, garchomp is probably the best but you get flygon before the 6th gym and it's just as useful for a bigger portion of the game. I could go on if you want.

I'm surprised they didn't just put him as the final gym leader instead of Juan, and then put Juan as the Champion so that there wouldn't be a Water gym and Water Champion. Not a fan of Wallace, so I'm not sure where to put him.

I miss the gen 3 music for sure, but I do like the extra events and expanded areas that were put in. I even like the idea of "outfits" for a little bit of customization. The Stat Scanner is a neat idea too, as is the Casino Cart. I love the idea of having the player have a portable gaming device to play mini games with.

I'm a 1000 ELO random battler shitter in showdown and I had no trouble finishing this game. It's very far from being unfair, and if you are really, really stuck it takes like 15 minutes to fully EV train and level up a new pokemon from scratch. No need to max out IVs too.

There are regular Audino spots throughout, and you have Lucky Egg + EXP Share early on. Adding a new team member takes a few minutes.

The only grinding that the game didn't streamline is getting money (which you only need if you want to max a bunch of IVs, if you only want to max that shiny you'll be fine without grinding) and these FUCKING STARTER EGGS

Congrats. Dont worry about a thing.

If you dont like the nature fortunately theres a nature changer every Pokecenter so you can change it pretty early on. It costs $7500 so it might suck to pay that much early game. After the second gym that amount of money isnt hard to come across.

If you dont like the IVs you can also buy IVs but you have to get to Celadon and it costs $300,000.

The games balanced pretty well. Its actually a bit easier than Clover if youve played that.

The only good DS hacks are Drayano's. Renegade Platinum is his most recent and it's very good. I personally like Blaze Black 1 and 2 because they focus more on alternative battle styles.
All his hacks are about giving buffs/changes to all pokemons to make them all viable. They aren't "difficulty" hack roms, even if the enemy teams are much stronger than vanilla.

Your assumption is correct. While the game has a bunch technically impressive features, the creator has no grasp on game design and how to scale difficulty, so the game balance is fucked.

I think that was just bad luck, I've found no evidence that the AI knows which move you're gonna make each turn. You can test it yourself with savestates, the AI will always make the same next move regardless of what you do.

It DOES, however, know exactly which item you have (making many of them useless, except to prevent a certain move perhaps) and know exactly how many turns sleep will last. Which is pretty BS.

As someone whos used savestates I can safely call it bad luck.

I was fighting Surge and started with Gyarados. Sometimes his Pincurchin would discharge, sometimes it wouldnt. I was banking on that to get off an Aqua Tail or two and keep the rest of my mons clean for M-Manectric.

Theres some other instances but none really come to mind. The game AI is fair enough.

As someone who's done a nuzlocke of the game...items are super fucking useful, what are you talking about.
Also, you can look up what sets and mons the AI has, it's not really bullshit that you can know things about it and counterteam appropriately but it can know things about you.

Yeah. I definitely wish more trainers in RR were harder, but it's not a huge deal. Kanto routes are hella boring especially the routes from Lavender to Fuschia so I wish those got remade a little.

How rare is the Crystal Onix in Shoal Cave in Blazing Emerald? I'm down in the very bottom where Suicune was and and haven't even run into a single one. I was able to run into Dreepy in the Burning Grotto far more even though that's also a rare encounter.

Despite the game's story being absolute vanity project shlock, the creator has a good head when it comes to battle design and pokemon selection. Also the terrain effects work better here than in Reborn, double battles allow you to use moves you wouldn't think twice of using like gravity.

Just enjoy it for what it is. Besides you can kill off all the characters you don't like eventually

The grinding is pretty bad. I've finished Radical Red twice, and the grinding is always a pain. Even with a balanced team fully EV trained you're still at a big disadvantage because the opponents have competitive sets and Abilities.

Probably would go with Sombulado, Venowatt, Mabster, Deathorus, Manatank, and Anaconduke for Leon. Lil Bro is imo easier as most of his team bar his Honrade are bulk-oriented so provided you have something to set up on Birdhouse (maybe Deathorus with SD?) you should be good. Also make sure you go to the soft cap.
Your team actually is varied enough, you'll just need to experiment with different items and such.

Yes. The gym leader you fight in the most current update, Ryland, is a tranny, pic related (he gets possessed by one of the villains for the battle). You wouldn't really ever know unless you paid close attention to the dialogue though.
