People on hate X Y and ORAS because gen 6 allowed you to catch all the Pokemon which made all the previous gens irrelevant and negated all your years of collecting and trading and transferring Pokemon forward. Unova fags in particular were inconsolable because it meant no one would ever have a reason to touch their forgettable gen again.

To be fair, I'm not sure they were even able to finish DP, given how awful it runs and how many graphical effects Platinum added on top of being slightly less awful to play. This is what happens when you have to get out a new game fast enough to keep up with merchandising. Honestly it's a miracle BW doesn't have a crippling issue that made the game worse, almost everything that could be considered a problem with BW is subjective and on the art side of things rather than the science side.

well, XY are legitimately mediocre but they have a lot of fans because Kalos is a cool region. So when people shit on XY for its gameplay issues and technical problems, the fans conflate that with criticism of the games settings. They get mad and then decide to shit on something that other people like. DPPT are only a few of the targets they take aim at.

Do you have brain damage? Most Pokemon generations allowed you to get most Pokemon. Gen 5 was among them, although with dead online that's not the case anymore. Gen 4 also had a lot of Pokemon available, HGSS gave you the most control over it but even the Sinnoh games had plenty with swarms. If you want to go even further, when the 3DS WiFi goes down Friend Safari and Mirage Islands will be kneecapped. Or are we talking about two different things?

XY is a Gen 5 game shoved in 3D so /vp/ arbitrarily seethes over it because it proves that 3D didn't kill the series, complacency did.
DP are hated because of speed.
Platinum is hated because it fixed the speed but made the game slightly more linear.
All are hated because they're actually games instead of visual novels like the series has shat out since SM.

I understand why you feel that way but you can't deny that it had some very interesting ideas. It takes you on a little adventure through the seasons as you play, so it feels the journey was a bit grander and took a long time. the routes were nice too.

I n now this is an unpopular opinion but I think the small dexes are better
emerald and platinum have the best distribution in the series for me
there is no region in the series that can gracefully contain over 400 pokemon without it feeling totally fake

The Alola games are a step backwards, XY quite literally just feel like offshoots of BW2 without any of the polish. They're still perfectly playable games (games being the keyword as nowadays Pokemon can barely be considered one)
