>>45626329Gen 7. XY had actual soul put into them, no matter how much /vp/ screeches about it. Not only you can see it in the games per se, but looking at videos and interviews of Masuda, plus his blog entries, you could see he was beyond excited with this project, he appeared like a giddy child, attempting to talk in french and how he couldn't wait for people to play these games. He was so full of life and hope, something that was then lost, and now he became the man with dead eyes that simply replies "Nai, wakaranai" to everything.
Regardless of the outcome, Gen 6 had actual love put into it. It was a massive step forward, with 3D, Amie, the PSS, etc. Not only games wise, but it was also a sort of revival for the anime.
Gen 7 on the other hand is when there went full corporate greed and their paranoia over Yokai Watch being a threat led them to rush new games out while copying so many of its mechanics in an attempt to pull their clientele. It was honestly pathetic, Gen 7 was sad and had the most cut content of any game to this date, it was made for the sole reason to make quick profit. That's when we passed a clear line of no return.
