Blastoise infinitely so and I say this as someone who always picks Squirtle. Venusaur is the best out of the 3 competitively. Blastoise got cucked out of Shell smash from gen 5 all the way to gen 7 and after it finally got it, it also lost access to its mega and its G-max is not better than Gyarados.

Technically Blastoise has (or rather had) a niche in gen 1 speedruns. It was the go-to before people realized running Nidoking had more advantages.

Venusaur is the right choice in Kanto. Has an advantage vs Brock, Misty, Surge, Erika, Giovanni, and functionally speaking Lorelei and Bruno.

In Kalos, Venusaur is still the right choice because it has an advantage vs Grant, Clemont, and Siebold, and with its Mega it avoids bad matchups vs Wulfric and Malva.

Nah. There was some debate back in like 2015 for if it was worth it, but since the community switched to real time instead of in-game time, you can just reset to manipulate a near-perfect Nidoran so it's way more consistent. Every top runner uses Nidoking now.

While that was awfully biased against Bulbasaur fans, but sometimes they skip Charmander and Squirtle in merchs

Bulbasaur has its own official Hamburger in Japan while Squirtle and Charmander doesn't as well
