That's not the issue.

The issue is the poll separates each generation into a separate voting pool so it's literally meaningless for comparing Pokemon between different generations.

How is number of votes relevant to the fact that the voting pools are independent?

The BEST you can conclude is that Greninja is more popular relative to the rest of Gen 6 than Charizard is popular relative to the rest of Gen 1, which doesn’t say much, considering Gen 6 has less than half the number of Pokemon than Gen 1 AND its dex is almost entirely made up of literal who Pokemon no one gives a fuck about.
