To be fair, it's not from a lack of creativity.
It's because people want to play it safe. It's not enough to just win, but you have to win consistently. Losing once after reaching top cut means you're out.
It takes massive balls to bring something unexpected and experimental to a Worlds tournament. And since the meta will have settled at that point, everyone already knows what the best things are.

yea it wasn't meant to be judgmental, just an observation. pokemon is a game of numbers so its a lot harder to overcome a bad match up like there would be a fighting game

so does pokemon world tournament not have a 2 stage knockout system with lower and upper bracket also it would be way more fun if you could chose out of a pool of 8 pokemon for thje whole tournament so the menta can evolve while the tournament is playing
