Well you see these are all reasons why the games were underplayed by the series' standards, but the reception from those who did play it (the "rating", if you will) was very positive, some may argue overly so.

I liked it too. They're my second favorite games, after Black and White 1. Just saying that something can be underplayed but overrated (most cult classics are this)

if thats comparing ruby, sapphire and emerald vs black, white, black 2 and white 2 then thats unfair seeing as not only is it 3 games vs 4. Also, black and white 2 are almost entirely new games (as new as pokemon sequel games can get) to black and white compared to the differences in ruby and sapphire vs emerald

I thought BW sucked but BW2 was pretty great. Fixed most of the things I didn't like (less linear map progression, not forced to only use the ugly gen 5 pokemon, better post game). They're good since they're some of the most content-packed games in the series, besides Platinum, HGSS and Emerald.

It was everything.
There were so many jaggies. You know, pixellated edges but not smooth. I thought the text was cramped and hard to read. I thought the overworld had too many jagged edges. It was very weird. Someome once described it as 2.5d, instead of 2d, i think it explains what i dislike
